Cookin’ On 3 Burners are Australia’s foremost organ trio – joining the dots between funk, soul, boogaloo & jazz. Long time partners Lance Ferguson (guitar), Ivan Khatchoyan (drums) and Jake Mason (organ) have taken their home brew of soulful Hammond get down everywhere from festivals to after hours bars and clubs.

With their releases receiving acclaim from international DJ’s, critics and fans alike, Cookin’ on 3 Burners continue to deliver upfront musical dishes with a down home flavour… fresh sounds to make you shake your peas and gravy.

Lance Ferguson – Guitar
Lance Ferguson (aka Lanu) has worked as a guitarist with artists including: Joe Bataan (U.S), Eddie Bo (U.S), Eddie Floyd (U.S), Alice Russell (U.K), Mark de Clive-Lowe (NZ/U.K), The Quantic Soul Orchestra (U.K), Bembe Segue (U.K), Doug Parkinson & Renée Geyer. A Tru Thoughts recording artist, his productions have also been released on labels including Ubiquity (U.S), Freestyle (U.K), Sonar Kollektiv (GER) and Kay Dee (U.S).
Lance is the band leader of Australian Funk/Soul band The Bamboos who have performed throughout Australia, U.K and Europe at venues including The Jazz Cafe, Meredith Festival, Falls Festival,Trop Fest, Good Vibrations and the West Coast Blues & Roots Festival.

Ivan Khatchoyan – Drums
Ivan Khatchoyan (aka Choi) - drummer/producer/writer. Ivan was born in Montreal, Canada where he playing music at an early age. Since moving to Australia in 1990, he has been a sought after presence in the jazz, funk & hip-hop music scene. Ivan has gigged, toured and recorded extensively with: seminal Australian groove acts Cranky, Skaddabox, Renee Geyer, Candice Monique, True Live, Oscillate, Rich Webb, OffCutts, TZU, Heavyweight Dub Champion (US), Elf Tranzporter (US). He has played tours supporting international acts: De La Soul (US ), Roots Manuva (UK), Moby(US), Mix Master Mike(US), Ozimatli(US), & The Roots. Also completed a 24 date tour supporting Cat Empire nationally with Skaddabox. Robertson, OffCutts, TZU, Heavyweight Dub Champion (US), Elf Tranzporter (US).

Jake Mason – Organ
After hearing a beaten up Hammond organ for the first time in his late teens, Jake has been an organ disciple ever since. With more than a nudge from the 50’s & 60’s organ heritage, he has also branded a jazz and funk style of his own. With Cookin’ On 3 Burners taking the focus he also splits his time by producing, songwriting, recording and playing saxophone (Yamaha endorsed). Jake leads his own band Mason Trio as well as being a busy session man. He has toured and played with some the worlds finest artists including Mark Seymour, Renee Geyer, Kate Ceberano, Ian Moss, Ronda Burchmore and Louis King. He is published by Origin Music Publishing.
